SnapBuild SnapBuild

SnapBuild — Privacy Policy

SnapBuild is built to stay on your device as much as possible: your job sites, photos and documents. This page explains what happens when you turn on backup, connect a cloud account, or allow error reporting.

Revision 1.2 Effective from 11.09.2026
This page exists only in English. It's the single authoritative version we maintain — no separate text is hand-translated per language, so it can't drift out of date in some languages while it's updated in others. Use the selector above (or your browser's own translate feature) to read it in your language: it translates this same live page on the fly, so it's never out of sync with the original. Automated translations are provided for convenience only; this English text is the one that legally applies.
01

Data controller

SnapBuild is developed and operated by the SnapBuild team. For any question about this policy or your data, write to info@snapbuild.eu.

02

Data that stays only on your device

Most of what you enter into SnapBuild is never transmitted anywhere: it stays in the app's database, on your phone or tablet.

  • User and company profile — name, surname, email, phone, tax code/VAT number, address, website, and any custom fields you add. Used only to auto-fill job-site sheets and the business card you may choose to export.
  • Job sites and albums — name, client, address, GPS coordinates, photos, videos, documents, notes and checklists with their due dates.
  • Local diagnostic log — a log file kept on the device to help you (or us, if you choose to share it) understand a malfunction. It cleans itself up after 6 months, and you can clear it anytime from Settings › Application log.
03

Data sent only when you turn on a feature

Nothing else leaves your device without an explicit action from you. Three features are the exception, and only if you use them:

Device permissions

Camera and microphone to take photos and record video, GPS location to geolocate job sites (coordinates are converted to an address by your operating system's own geocoding service, not by a SnapBuild server), gallery and files to attach content already on your device, notifications for task reminders — generated and shown entirely on-device.

Cloud backup (Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive — your choice)

You pick one destination and connect it yourself. SnapBuild then uploads a copy of your data (job sites, photos, documents; metadata in encrypted form) to a folder on that account. Whichever provider you choose, the app only ever asks for access to the single folder it creates for itself — never your whole Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive: Google Drive via its drive.file scope, Dropbox via "App folder" access, OneDrive via the Files.ReadWrite.AppFolder scope. Sign-in goes through that provider's own login screen, from which SnapBuild only receives the account's email address, never the password. Switching provider later starts a fresh backup on the new one; your existing files on the old provider stay where they are until you remove them yourself.

Automatic error, warning and performance reports

SnapBuild uses Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring (both Google) to get notified when something goes wrong or runs slowly. Both are on by default, controlled by the same setting, and you can turn them off anytime from Settings › Application log — the same choice is also offered the first time you open the app. When enabled, an error, technical warning or performance sample sends: device model and OS version, app version, the technical text of the message or stack trace, and a random installation identifier (not derived from any personal data) that lets us match a report to a support conversation you start by email — you can view and copy this identifier from Settings › Application log.

Reports never include photos, notes, or profile or job-site data — only technical information about how the app is running.
04

No advertising, no profiling

SnapBuild shows no ads, builds no commercial profile from your data, and does not sell or share the information it collects with third parties beyond what's strictly needed for the technical services described above.

05

Third-party services involved

Only the providers tied to a feature you actually use receive data, and only for that feature:

  • Google — always: Firebase Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring (section 03). Only if chosen as your backup destination: Sign-In and the Google Drive API. Once available: in-app purchases through Google Play Billing. See Google's privacy policy.
  • Dropbox — only if chosen as your backup destination: Dropbox's own sign-in and API. See Dropbox's privacy policy.
  • Microsoft — only if OneDrive is chosen as your backup destination: Microsoft sign-in and the Microsoft Graph API. See Microsoft's privacy statement.
06

International data transfers

Google, Dropbox and Microsoft may process data on servers located outside the European Economic Area, depending on where your account or the specific service is hosted. Each of them provides appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses — see the links in section 05 for their own documentation. SnapBuild does not operate any server of its own: it never transfers your data anywhere on its own initiative, only through the providers you choose to use.

07

How long we keep data
